As one of the activities in diffusing and transferring technologies, innovations, and researches from the field of science and technology, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) in Region 1 through its Pangasinan Provincial Science and Technology Centers (PSTCs) activates its force to run the six district wide Science and Technology (S&T) Caravans in Pangasinan from July to December this year.
S&T Caravans aim to stir up public awareness on DOST programs, projects, and services, as well as the adaptable technologies applicable in the province. Also, the event intends to create the Municipal Science and Technology Coordinating Councils (MSTCCs) who are tasked to create and coordinate community-based projects that can be implemented with DOST 1.
The DOST programs, projects, services, and technologies will be presented during the event through technology fora, technology training, exhibits, interactive exhibits, and more.
The lined up S&T Caravans will be held in the six host municipalities, namely San Carlos City, Aguilar, Laoac, Manaoag, and Tayug, on August 14-16, August 28-30, October 9-12, November 6-8, and November 27-29, 2018, respectively.
The Alaminos City will also be hosting the regionwide Science and Technology Week Celebration (RSTW) on September 18-21, 2018 at Don Leopoldo Sison Convention Center where more technologies and activities will be showcased.
The activities are open to the public specially to DOST’s target clients, which include students, entrepreneurs, local government units, and other public and private sectors. //Florde Liza L. Alida
