Aiming to ensure upright conduct and implementation of Department of Science and Technology (DOST) 1 certification program of boards of election inspectors (BEIs) in the May 9 national and local polls, Assistant Secretary (ASEC) and Program Manager for Countryside Development Dr. Urdujah A. Tejada made a visit to Pangasinan on March 16, 2016.
In the middle of the certification process, ASEC Tejada addressed the importance of the upcoming elections wherein she urged every teacher to do their share to achieve quality results.
“Nakasalalay po sa inyo ang kalidad, maayos at ligtas na eleksiyon. (The quality, upright and safe conduct of elections, depends on you.) This is a challenge for us, to follow the policy because we are abided by the rules set to us by the Commission on Elections (Comelec). If you have problems encountered, inform our DOST personnel. I wish you good health so that you are ready for the
2016 elections,” she further added.
ASEC Tejada was accompanied by DOST 1 Regional Director Armando Q. Ganal, Provincial Director Felicidad M. Gan, April Montes, Information Officer of the Philippine Information Agency 1 and other DOST personnel.
Among the teacher-examinees endorsed by the COMELEC came from the cities of Dagupan and San Carlos and the municipalities of Agno, Manaoag, Infanta, Umingan, San Nicholas, among others.
According to the BEI certifiers, there are still three remaining batches in the same province that will have written and practical examinations on the operation of the Vote Counting Machine (VCM). The certification ended on March 22.
