High quality food ingredients, bakery equipment and baking supplies were imparted to several Small and Medium Enterprises and personnel of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) 1 during the training in Baking 102 on March 30, 2016 at the La Union Science and Technology Center.
The Achievers Food and Bakery Ingredients Corporation (AFBIC) served as the training provider to 35 participants in baking of breads, cakes and pastries.
According to Ms. Raquel M. Espiritu, Provincial Science and Technology Director of La Union, the said training is aimed at enhancing the skills of the participants most especially the SMEs and likewise, widen their creativity on recipes to cope up with the demands of constantly growing market.
Citing her experience last year, she said thru the said training, she was able to put up her own bakery in Tarlac City because of the knowledge and concepts she acquired from baking.
On the other hand, Ms. Monica Cabradilla, participant and also the owner of 3 Sister’s and MJ’s Bakeshop in Bangar, La Union said, the training was really beneficial for bakers like her because of the new recipes, techniques and proper procedure in baking.
Among the bakery products, the participants learned the process of baking Moist Cake, Chiffon Cake, Pastel Rolls, Singaporean Bread, Monay Special and Butter Cake.
